Help Us

Each and every person that is doing Chaupai Sahib’s for the Panth is helping the Panth and for this there are no words with which we can thank you enough.

All we can do, is to ask that you take on even more seva!

What we really want is for as many people around the world to take some time out to remember what we have been through and to contribute back into our magnificent Panth. However, the only way people can do this, is if they know about what we are trying to do! So the challenge is to spread the world so that at as many people as possible are made aware of this cause.

What we have below are different seva’s that we hope you will take on which will help us inform people about what we are doing, educate them about our history and create a feeling of unity which will reach beyond barriers of territory, caste, background, gender, age, education, knowledge etc. Let us remember that when Sri Darbar Sahib was attacked the army soldiers did not discriminate between the innocents that they shot. When the mobs terrorised Delhi, they didn’t discriminate on the type of Sikh that they burnt with kerosene. So brothers and sisters, if we can suffer in unity without discrimination, then let us pray for justice and for the chardikala of the Panth with unity and faith. Let us use opportunity this to bring us together.

Please try and do as many of the possible seva’s below. If there is anything else you can think of that would help us, please let us know.

Promoting the 1,000,000 Chaupai Sahib event:

Internet Communication

There are a LOT of people around the world with internet access now, and communication with each other should be easy.  So please try and do the following:

If you are a Facebook user, join our Facebook group and invite all of your friends on your friends list to join up as well. Every now and then on your status comment, you could state that you are “Playing your Part by Praying for the Panth via www.chaupaisahib.org” and ask others to join in.
Dont forget to become friends with Chaupai Singh on Facebook so you can be kept upto date with developments!
If you use online discussion boards and forums, post up information about the cause and promote it on there. Contribute on existing threads and keep up the interest.
Make www.chaupaisahib.org your homepage so that you can see how we are progressing daily, it will also provide a constant reminder to try and do more paaths!
If you are a website owner or do seva for any other websites, why not post up the web banner available from the Documents Section with a link through to www.chaupaisahib.org so that your site visitors can also take part in this seva. You don’t have to use this particular banner, you can design your own if you like.
Refer to the cause in your MSN screen name.
Send an email to all your friends and family to get them involved! A standard email that has been going around is attached below.
If you run a Sikh Society or a student group or any other group, please send the emails to your members and discuss the cause with them and encourage them to get involved.
You can text your contacts and ask them to check out the website and take part. If you know people already involved, we can encourage each other to keep it up and send in our submissions!

Gurdwara Seva

Our Gurdwara sahibs are central to our community and we need your help in contacting as many Gurdwara Sahib’s as possible to get them involved. So please do the following:
You can download the posters and print and post up in your Gurdwara. Let’s try and get every Gurdwara covered with at least one poster each (English and Punjabi).
We also need people to go and speak to the people at the Gurdwara Sahib. Most Gurdwara Sahibs will have a good solid number of sangat that do a lot of seva at the Gurdwara Sahib (both langar seva and kirtan/path seva) i.e. elder bibia doing kirtan etc. We need to let these Gursikhs know about what we are doing and invite them to join in.
For example: In one Gurdwara Sahib, the bibia have all agreed to take part in the programme and are doing the Chaupai Sahibs both    while they do seva at the Gurdwara Sahib and at home in their own time. On a weekly basis they all tell one lady how many paath they have done, and this number is then being submitted to our site via her son who knows how to use the internet.

So please could you speak to the bibia/sevadars at the Gurdwara Sahib’s and ask them to announce the programme from the stage and see if you/they can allocate one person to collect the paaths completed weekly from the Gurdwara Sahib sangat and submit them through to us.
If there are Punjabi classes, Gatka classes or other such events or classes at your Gurdwara Sahib then try attending them and ask them to encourage their students/members to take part in this seva. Again the group/class can collect the paath done weekly and submit them through to us. Encourage the classes to do at least one Chaupai Sahib at each class for the chardikala of the Panth as well (remember 30 kids listening to one paath – is 30 paaths completed).
We have written a standard letter that we are planning to send to all Gurdwara Sahibs asking them to take part in the seva and arrange somebody at each Gurdwara Sahib to collect and submit the paath’s. We are just preparing the Punjabi version and this will be posted up shortly. As we will only be able to cover the UK, we need sevadars from other countries to contact us and take on the seva of printing and delivering the letters to their local Gurdwara Sahib’s with the posters. Please let us know if you can do this so that we can keep track of where the posters/letters have reached.

Arrange Events

Already we have seen members of the sangat taking on the seva of arranging programmes in their local areas, these are both regular weekly events and one off special events also. (See the Events Section to see what has been done so far.)
So please can you try the following:

Arrange a weekly session in your local Gurdwara Sahib, where you and the sangat can get together and do the Chaupai Sahibs together either as paath or even as kirtan. This could be 1 or 2 hours every week at the Gurdwara Sahib, or even at your home! Remember if 10 people sit together and do 10 paaths together, thats 100 paaths completed.
Or arrange a 24 hour programme at the Gurdwara Sahib where sangat takes on 1 or 2 hour duties of continuously reading the Chaupai Sahib. Finish the 24 reading with a kirtan darbar for the same causes as the paath and get everyone singing the praises of Vaheguru together. www.chaupaisahib.org will be arranging a number of these programmes to take place over the next few months across the UK see the Events Section.

If you arrange something, let us know and we will post it up for you, also send us in the audio and pictures from the event so that we can all see what our brothers and sisters around the world are doing! The more events and audio/pictures we are able to put, the more it will encourage all of us to try harder and get even more involved.

If you have any more ideas of suggestions, please do let us know as we want to hear from you as this is YOUR panth and YOUR programme.
